[SPOTVNEWS = Reporter Gong Mi-na] A novel written by Jang Ye-chan, a candidate for the People's Power Youth Supreme Council, was embroiled in a controversy that sexually targeted several female celebrities, including singer IU (real name Lee Ji-eun). Regarding this, former People's Power representative Lee Jun-seok apologized, saying, "I am sorry to IU fans."

On the 26th, former CEO Lee posted on his SNS, "I don't know what's going on, but if IU's fandom is touched, the general election will be in danger. People who read it faster than me send it (contents), but it seems correct that IU's real name and lyrics were included. IU Fans, I'm sorry. Please don't hate the power of the people. It's just an act of one candidate," he wrote about Candidate Jang's web novel 'Gangnam Hwa-ta'.

'Gangnamhwata' is a fantasy martial arts novel written by Candidate Jang from April 2015 to December 2016 under the pen name 'Myojae'. In this work, Han Ji-ho, a 29-year-old oriental doctor called Hwa-ta in Gangnam, treats an actress suffering from an incurable disease through sex, and treats a female singer who can't produce high notes due to a sore throat, and then they date.

In some of the contents of 'Gangnamhwata' shared by former CEO Lee, IU's real name and part of the lyrics of her representative song 'Good Day' appear as they are. In addition, it caused controversy by using a real person as a sexual object by introducing a person who reminds me of various female celebrities, including IU, and explicitly evaluating her body or highlighting her promiscuity.

As the controversy grew, candidate Jang refuted on social media, saying, "Did I talk dirty in my essay like Tak Hyun-min, or did I sexually harass a female celebrity in comments like Lee Jae-myeong's son?"

Candidate Jang said, "Some media have inquired about it, but everyone said that it makes no sense to dispute the contents of a fantasy novel, so they did not publish it." Are there dramas, webtoons, and novels?" he asked back.

He added, “Now, do directors, writers, and actors who make or appear in movies or dramas all become figures who have caused social controversy?
